Community Partners
Community partners play a key role in this program in 2 key areas1:
Nomination of scholarship candidates
RBC Future Launch works with Community Partners who are in relationship with Black youth in their communities. Community Partners nominate between one and five Black youth in their network by submitting their name and contact; and these nominees go on to complete an application. The number of nominees each Community Partner is allocated will be pre-determined based on a variety of factors.
Ongoing engagement and support
Community Partners continue to engage with RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Black Youth recipients throughout the course of their education journey to support them with academic services, mentorship, networking, and other programming as determined by each unique Community Partner.
Learn more about what RBC is doing
For both of these areas, a small amount of funding is provided by RBC Future Launch to Community Partners. Community Partners are expected to participate in orientation sessions, trainings, and debriefs; and they are required to provide a short narrative report about their engagement with scholarship recipients each year. Community Partner management, and all programming and administration is undertaken by RBC Future Launch partner, Universities Canada.
