Things to do after migration:

Things to do after migration:

With your products and services now migrated to Royal Bank of Canada, here is a checklist to make sure you have a smooth landing.

Visit RBC Online Banking or the RBC Mobile app to see your migrated products and services.

Banking accounts

  • Check your primary account setting for your RBC Client card at any RBC ATM to ensure it is set up according to your preference. If you do not have a chequing account and your primary account is set up as savings account, you may be incurring additional debit transaction fees when using point-of-sale terminals in stores. Discuss your options and update your accounts with an RBC advisor.
  • Complete the setup of your Global View service. Log on to RBC Online Banking or the RBC Mobile app, select “External Accounts” and provide your consent to the Royal Bank of Canada Terms & Condition presented to you.
  • If you have a power of attorney or if you are appointed as an attorney, click here (opens in new window) for more details on the changes that may apply to the attorney’s access and further actions that you may need to take.
  • Add/update your debit card number in your digital wallet if applicable.

Credit cards

  • Ensure your RBC credit card is activated and is in your physical and digital wallets.
  • Confirm your RBC credit card(s) payment due date in RBC Online Banking, the RBC Mobile app, or your previous credit card statement. Learn more (opens in new window) about how you can easily pay your RBC credit card bill.
  • Contact all merchants (e.g. streaming service subscriptions, fitness membership fees, insurance payments, etc.) with whom you have a recurring monthly, quarterly, or annual payment arrangement and provide your updated RBC credit card details to ensure there are no payment interruptions.
  • Watch out for your Avion Rewards Welcome email later this week to get more information about your Avion points balances, redemption value, and ways to redeem. Upon receipt, you will be able to access your points balance via Avionrewards.com (opens in new window) or through the Avion Rewards Mobile App1.

Payments

  • Your pre-authorized debits and/or direct deposits are migrated automatically. If you’d like to make any change, please contact your payee and/or payor to update the information.
  • Check to see if your bill payees and INTERAC e-Transfer contacts have been migrated to RBC Online Banking. If you did not enrol before the transition, you will need to set up your post-dated bill payments in RBC Online Banking.
  • Check that your post-dated bill payments are scheduled in RBC Online Banking. Remember if you were an existing RBC client, your previous payees and contacts will not have migrated over.
  • Order your RBC cheques through RBC Online Banking, the RBC Mobile app, or by calling 1-800-769-2503. Your previous cheques will be honoured for up to 12 months after migration, but we encourage you to use your RBC cheques as soon as you receive them.
