2025

RBC announces a new, global approach to supporting disaster and humanitarian relief efforts with Red Cross partnerships in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. and an employee donation match program.

2025

RBC builds on its Canadian commitment to give back 1% pre-tax income by expanding it to the UK, Europe and the U.S.

2024

RBC, RBC Foundation and RBC Foundation USA commit C$2 billion in community investments through new approach – Ideas for People and Planet™ – to help address society’s most pressing challenges.

2019

RBC announces a $100 million commitment to RBC Tech for Nature to support nonprofits leveraging technology-based climate solutions. RBC fulfilled the commitment in 2025 and continues to support environmental causes.

2017

RBC Future Launch is announced, a $500 million commitment to help Canadian youth access meaningful employment. RBC fulfilled the commitment in 2025 and continues to support youth skills development.

2015

RBC Capital Markets launches RBC Trade for the Kids (now Charity Day), turning the power of trade into support for children’s charities.

2014

RBC Learn to Play Project is announced with ParticipACTION, a national program aimed at improving physical activity among Canada’s children and youth. RBC continues to support healthy, active communities.

2010

RBC Play Hockey program is announced, a multi-year commitment focused on removing financial barriers and increasing access to the sport for youth across North America. RBC continues to support healthy, active communities.

2009

First RBC Race for the Kids kicks off in New York, rallying employees and
communities to support children’s causes. Today, the Race has expanded across the globe.

2008

RBC Children’s Mental Wellbeing Project is announced, committed to expand mental wellbeing support for kids.

2007

RBC Blue Water Project is launched, working with our employees, clients and nonprofit organizations to help protect fresh water for communities and ecosystems. The project ended in 2017.

2007

RBC Emerging Artists Project is announced, to help open doors for the next generation of Canadian artists to thrive in their careers. RBC continues to support skills development for artists.

1999

RBC After School Project is announced, committed to help create safe spaces for kids to learn, play and thrive.

1993

RBC Foundation is established in Canada.

1989

RBC becomes a founding member of Imagine Canada’s Caring Companies (now Imagine Certification) and commits to give back at least 1% of domestic pre-tax income to communities.

1966

RBC launches our employee annual giving campaign (now RBC Celebration of Impact), mobilizing our people to create a culture of community commitment through volunteering and donations.

1961

RBC Foundation USA is established in the United States.

1891

First corporate donation to the Springhill Mine Accident Relief Fund, setting the foundation for showing up when communities need us most.
