RBC receives REmmy Award for innovative use of workplace technology

November, 2016 - RBC was the recipient of a CoreNet REmmy Award in recognition of our innovative use of workplace technology in the retail banking network. The REmmy awards recognize leadership excellence and best practices in corporate real estate.

“It is an honor to be recognized by CoreNet for our efforts towards incorporating innovative technology in the workplace,” said Nadeem Shabbar, Global Head, RBC Corporate Real Estate. “This award validates RBC’s commitment to developing sustainable business practices. Together with our partners, we’re creating a work and retail environment that our employees, clients and shareholders can be proud of.”

RBC’s “Internet of Things” program is an initiative to install smart thermostats and light switches in selected retail locations. Enabling these devices with intelligence, provides the ability to fine tune delivery of lighting and ventilation to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
