TORONTO, March 11, 2014 — Janice Fukakusa, CAO
& CFO, RBC, has been selected as Canada's CFO of the Year for 2014 by Financial Executives Canada, PwC and Robert
Half. This prestigious award recognizes a senior financial leader who
has made a significant contribution to business in Canada with quality,
insight and direction.
Janice was chosen for the award by an independent committee comprised of several prominent members of Canada's business community. The judging criteria covered a number of areas including vision and leadership; corporate reporting and performance; social responsibility; innovation and business complexity. Candidates came from a wide range of business sectors and were nominated by CEOs, board members, financial analysts and other senior executives.
This recognition not only honours Janice's significant business contribution through her leadership and professionalism, but also her deep commitment to giving back and making a positive and lasting difference to communities.
Last year, Janice was named among the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking by American Banker magazine and in 2007 she was inducted into Canada's Most Powerful Women Hall of Fame. In December, her team was honoured by the Canadian Professional Accountants of Canada for its excellence in corporate reporting and transparency in corporate governance disclosure.
