April 10, 2013 — For the fifth year, RBC has been named one of the "Best Workplaces in Canada". This recognition is determined in an annual study by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada and The Globe and Mail.
"We are honoured to receive this recognition as it is based in large part on what employees say about working at RBC, and it shows the kind of workplace that can be built together," says Zabeen Hirji, Chief Human Resources Officer. "RBC is a place where employees share common values and have the opportunity to achieve their full potential; a place where we can be inspired and feel proud to be part of a great team."
The competition is based on two criteria: a survey completed by a random selection of employees, and an in-depth review of the organization's culture, including an evaluation of Human Resources policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture.
This year's winners were announced in a special national report in The Globe and Mail on April 10, 2013.
