With great honour, on National Philanthropy Day November 16th, RBC was named the 2012 Outstanding Philanthropic Organization by the Manitoba chapter of the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals).
Nominated by our Winnipeg community partner, Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation, this impressive award recognizes RBC for the difference it has made to the Foundation through its support of the RBC Cruisin’ Down the Crescent walkathon and the RBC Therapeutic Recreation & Wellness Program. Also mentioned was RBC’s community partnership to over 200 other not-for-profit community partners.
“RBC has touched so many souls in so many ways, building relationships, affiliations…hopes and bright futures. And they do this humbly, because they truly believe in our community.”
Vice President Commercial Financial Services and Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation Board Member Glenn Crook, accepting on behalf of RBC, took the opportunity to celebrate RBC employees from across the Region for a feverish commitment to volunteerism and creating meaningful change within our local communities.
Regional President Rob Johnston commented with great pride following the awards, “This honour belongs to every one of our employees across the Region. It is because of their compassion, volunteerism, and contribution to creating vibrant communities that prestigious recognition like this happens.” Rob further commented that if we are all to share in this award, we all need the opportunity to experience it. And so this award will spend the next year travelling across many of our communities so it may be shared with colleagues and clients.
Thank you RBC for once again proving, as We Day declared, that we can change the world.
