April 18, 2012 — RBC has been named one of the "Best Workplaces in Canada" four years running. This recognition is determined in an annual study by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada and The Globe and Mail.
"RBC's shared values of service, teamwork, responsibility, diversity and integrity are the foundation of everything we do across the different cultures of our diverse businesses and geographies," says Zabeen Hirji, Chief Human Resources Officer. "What we have in common and what we achieve together makes RBC a place where people are proud of who we are as a company and where there is a strong sense of belonging."
"The success of any truly great company is measured by its ability to bring out the energy and talents of its employees," says Ms. Hirji. "Through our diversity, RBC is a place where people can achieve their full potential, where there are many career opportunities and where continuous learning is a way of life. Part of being a great place to work is also having people who care about the world around them and about each other. At RBC, this is a reality and it enables us to continue delivering on our vision of always earning the right to be our clients' first choice."
The "Best Workplaces in Canada" study is primarily based on an employee survey that measures the level of credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie in the workplace.
Six principles define what RBC stands for as an employer and guide ongoing efforts to support the mutual success of employees, clients and shareholders. These include a commitment to professional growth and excellence in people management and a passion for putting our clients first.
This year's winners were announced in a special national report in The
Globe and Mail on April 18, 2012.
