April 2011– For the third consecutive year RBC has been recognized as one of the "Best Workplaces in Canada" in an annual study by the Great Place to Work Institute Canada and The Globe and Mail.
"RBC is, at its core, a people business," says Zabeen Hirji, Chief Human Resources Officer. "To deliver value to clients, we make enabling the success of our employees a priority. This recognition is a direct reflection of our employees' dedication and what they do day in day out to ensure that RBC is a great company and a great place to work."
The "Best Workplaces in Canada" study is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada and is primarily based on an employee survey that measures the level of credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie in the workplace. This year's list received over 230 nominations.
Six principles define what RBC stands for as an employer and guide ongoing efforts to support the mutual success of employees, clients and shareholders. These include a commitment to professional growth and excellence in people management and a passion for putting our clients first.
This year's winners were announced in a special national report in The Globe and Mail on April 12.
