February 2011– RBC has again been named as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers in a national competition that recognizes organizations for diversity and inclusion.
The award honours employers that have developed exemplary diversity initiatives in five employee groups: women; members of visible minorities; persons with disabilities; Aboriginal peoples; and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered / Transsexual (LGBT) peoples.
"Diversity for Growth and Innovation is one of RBC's core values and it enables us to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to achieve their full potential," says Zabeen Hirji, RBC's Chief Human Resources Officer. "All of us are diverse in some way, and so a workplace where everyone belongs and can contribute fully enriches our organization, allows us to understand clients better, and helps us generate innovative ideas and solutions. This award is a meaningful acknowledgement of the progress we've made and an inspiration to do more."
This competition is held annually by Mediacorp Canada Inc. as a supplement of Canada's Top 100 Employers, which RBC was also recognized for in 2011.
