March 2010 – For the second consecutive year, RBC has been named as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers in a national competition that aims to identify organizations that lead Canada in creating diverse and inclusive workplaces.
The award recognizes employers that have developed exemplary diversity initiatives in five employee groups: women; members of visible minorities; persons with disabilities; Aboriginal peoples; and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered / Transsexual (LGBT) peoples.
"A workplace where everyone can achieve their full potential means tapping into the full spectrum of ideas and abilities that our people possess. Frankly, it's a win-win situation: when employees achieve their full potential, RBC wins too," says Zabeen Hirji, RBC's Chief Human Resources Officer. "It's not about 'let's do diversity today.' It's about embedding diversity into our everyday business and making it an intrinsic part of our people and client strategies."
This competition is held annually by Mediacorp Canada Inc. as a supplement of Canada's Top 100 Employers, which RBC was also recognized for in 2010.
