RBC named one of Canada's most admired corporate cultures

Based on interviews with 185 leading executives

TORONTO, October 10, 2006 — RBC has a most admired corporate culture, according to the 2nd Annual Canadian Corporate Culture StudyTM conducted by Waterstone Human Capital Ltd., a leading retainer-based search firm. Waterstone interviewed 185 leading executives about what Canadian organizations they admire most in terms of having a corporate culture that has helped them be successful. RBC's corporate culture ranked second most admired.

RBC's goal is to be an employer of choice, where initiatives such as learning and career development, health and wellness, and respect for diversity are at the core of our culture. This helps RBC to attract and retain the best people, which is key to RBC's success.

Interesting Study Highlight
Of the executives interviewed for the study, 99.9% of them believe there is a direct correlation between corporate culture and financial performance. This seems to be supported by actual corporate performance. The three-year average revenue growth of Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures(TM) of 2006 is almost three times that of the S&P TSX 60 and the three-year average asset growth was almost four times that of the S&P TSX 60.
