Double dose of help
TORONTO, September 2004 - A 19-member
team of RBC employees and clients took part in the Weekend
to End Breast Cancer and raised over $200,000 for the Princess
Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. This was the most
funds raised by any team and it included a generous donation
from the RBC Foundation of $40,000.
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometre
walk that tours areas of Toronto. Over 4,500 walkers took
part and raised over $14.7 million for Princess Margaret
Hospital. The hospital is the largest institution in Canada
exclusively devoted to cancer treatment, research and education.
RBC Financial Group supports a variety of initiatives related
to cancer research and treatment, including the Terry
Fox Run and the B.C./Yukon
Breast Cancer Foundation.
