Celebrating the Year of the Monkey

Celebrating the Year of the Monkey
Helen Cheung and Domino Au-Young set the stage
for Chinese New Year celebrations

Seniors have helped shape our culture and the environment where we live and work. That's why RBC employees decided to give something back to seniors in Richmond, British Columbia.

For the past three years, employees at RBC Royal Bank in Richmond, a suburb of Vancouver, celebrated Chinese New Year by visiting a seniors' home. In 2004, the year of the Monkey, employees and their families visited over 100 seniors, with a focus on music, dance and tradition.

"We feel it's important to keep our cultural traditions vibrant and healthy, especially in the eyes of our elders," says George Eng of RBC. "We have a great time with celebrations, and we can see the seniors feed off our energy and have a great time taking part."
