RBC leaders honoured as Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners

TORONTO, November 26, 2014 -  Each year, the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) honours strong women leaders who have become agents of change in reshaping Canadian organizations at the highest levels. The award espouses the traits of bold leadership and recognizes the diverse contributions of these inspiring women.

In 2014, three RBC leaders – Emily Jelich, Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Linda Mantia, Executive Vice President, Digital, Payments & Cards and Kim Mason, Regional President, Greater Toronto Region – were recognized among this group of top women achievers. Kathleen (Katie) Taylor, Chair of the Board at RBC, was also named to the list.

Winners are selected based on their strategic vision and leadership, their organization's financial performance, and their commitment to their communities.

“We are extremely proud that our leaders are being recognized for their ability to inspire and effect change both in their corporate roles and in their communities. Developing our leaders of today and tomorrow challenges us all to be better and achieve more,” said Dave McKay, President and Chief Executive Officer of RBC.

Thirty-seven per cent of RBC’s executives are women in Canada, its board is comprised of 33 per cent women and the chair of the board, Katie Taylor, is the first woman chair of a major Canadian bank.
