U.S. Wealth Management named one of Human Rights Campaigns
Best Places to Work
September 23, 2009 U.S. Wealth Management at
RBC received a 100% rating in the 2010 Corporate Equality
Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights
Campaign (HRC) Foundation. The top-rated businesses are recognized
on HRC's Best Places to Work list.
The Corporate Equality Index is the Foundation's annual report
card, measuring how welcoming major corporations are in regards
to their gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) employees,
clients and investors, using a scale from 0 to 100 percent.
Scores are based on multiple factors, such as domestic partnership
benefits, GLBT employee resource groups, and inclusive nondiscrimination
policies that specifically address GLBT employees.
"We are extremely proud to receive a perfect score of
100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality
Index this year," said John Taft, head of U.S. Wealth
Management. "As a company, we are committed to maintaining
an inclusive work environment built on mutual respect, trust
and fair treatment, where individual differences are valued
and celebrated. This recognition underscores our serious commitment
to diversity."
"Our 100% CEI rating and Best Places to Work
designation will strengthen our partnerships within the GLBT
community. And, this recognition helps to better position
us to serve other emerging markets through efforts such as
our Women's Growth strategy and Latino initiatives in the
South Region and West Washington area," said Wanda Brackins,
director of Diversity and Inclusion, U.S. Wealth Management.
