RBC donates $200,000 to Leadership Mount Allison

April, 2005 — SACKVILLE, NB — Mount Allison's signature leadership program got a big financial boost as RBC announced a donation of $200,000 in support of Leadership Mount Allison.

Leadership Mount Allison is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary program designed in 2000 to develop and enhance leadership abilities among Mount Allison students.

One program component is the Leadership Development Certificate Program, a non-credit program open to members of the Mount Allison and surrounding communities. The program encourages community involvement, social activism, civic responsibility, volunteer activities, awareness of group dynamics, risk-taking, and conflict resolution. Leadership Mount Allison has recently expanded its projects with Global Connect, a program that provides Mount Allison students with international and cross-cultural opportunities.

"RBC is proud to play a major role in the long-term vision of Mount Allison," said Wayne Bossert, RBC's regional Vice President for the Atlantic region. "This university has always been known for providing leading edge, top calibre offerings and the Leadership program is no exception. Unique, pervasive and comprehensive - the Leadership program will have a tremendous positive impact on both students and the community at large."

"Leadership Mount Allison is a unique program that allows and encourages our students to become active community leaders in their present and future communities," said Mount Allison University President, Dr. Ken Ozmon. "We are grateful for the generous support RBC has provided to help us work towards our goals of community outreach and enriching the Mount Allison experience."
