RBC and Environmental Responsibility
RBC is committed to being a good corporate citizen, and despite
our leadership in corporate environmental sustainability,
we are not complacent. We have recently undertaken to
support work and advocacy relating to climate change, biodiversity
and water. On these and other environmental issues, we maintain
an ongoing dialogue with many environmental groups. In each
of these relationships, we will continue to act on our belief
that a collaborative approach can create the best solutions
for society.
Our environmental responsibility extends into every aspect
of our dealings with clients, from meeting and exceeding regulatory
requirements, to actively evaluating and managing environmental
and climate change risks, to providing climate change and
carbon markets training to staff. We conduct comprehensive
social and environment reviews of the impact of any project
finance, energy or otherwise, and these reviews are a condition
of financing. We actively support clients in renewable, alternative
and clean technologies and we created the RBC Blue Water Project,
a $50 million commitment to supporting water-related causes.
