Technical Challenge

Our Spring/Summer challenge for technology-focused students

This challenge opportunity allows students to design and develop working prototypes that will address the challenge theme – in the form of a Web, Mobile or Desktop Application or any other creative technical output that solves the problem at hand.

You are on: About the Challenge

The RBC Next Great Innovator Challenge® - Prototyping Event is an amazing opportunity to display your ideas, creativity and problem-solving skills. As part of this Challenge, you will:

  • Be given the challenge theme and question in June 2014
  • Have 1 week to prepare your best concepts, designs and mock-ups
  • Receive an invitation to the Challenge Event TBD (to be determined) in Toronto
  • Have access to business coaches and resources
  • Present your proposed solution to RBC judges
  • Get an opportunity to meet with RBC recruiters

The NGI Prototyping Event will be held for two days, 1 night. You can bring materials and resources prepared ahead of time and use the time provided at the event to finalize your design, code and develop your idea into a working prototype.

The first round of concept presentations will begin in the morning; teams will give a 2-minute pitch to a group of RBC judges. A minimum of 5 concepts will move into the next round, which will take place that afternoon – these finalist teams will have 10 minutes to present their best and final pitch to a panel of RBC executive judges.
