RBC donates $500,000 to QEII Health Sciences Centre

May 26, 2005—Halifax, NS — RBC Financial Group announced a contribution of $500,000 to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre (QEII). This donation will facilitate further growth of the Multi-Organ Transplant Program (MOTP), and help to fund endowed chairs.

"This donation will help to assist with the Program's continued growth," said Fred Fountain, Chair of the Working Miracles campaign. "On behalf of the patients who will benefit throughout the entire Atlantic Region, the QEII thanks RBC for this gift."

The MOTP provides transplantation services for the Atlantic Provinces, and serves a population of almost three million people. The services include transplantation of solid organs such as the kidneys, the liver, the heart, and the pancreas. Approximately two thousand Atlantic Canadians have received organ transplants at the QEII.
