RBC donates $150,000 to HIV/AIDS research

RBC has donated $150,000 to Canadian Foundation for AIDS research (CANFAR), a privately funded, charitable organization raising awareness in order to generate funds for research in the clinical, biological and social sciences of HIV infection and AIDS.

CANFAR is Canada's only organization operating for the sole purpose of privately funding research on AIDS and HIV infection. CANFAR's activities do not duplicate existing research programs, organizations or agencies, but augments and complements existing research programs by providing additional funding to sustain or complete ongoing efforts.

CANFAR has provided nearly $8 million to 254 research projects, and RBC has donated more than $500,000 to CANFAR since 1990.
