Kevin Talbot
Kevin is Vice President, Venture Capital, Royal Bank of Canada, Managing Director, RBC Venture Partners and Co-Managing Partner, BlackBerry Partners Fund.

Kevin joined the organization in 1997 after establishing a long and successful track record as an entrepreneur and operator in the information technology industry in both Canada and the USA where he developed extensive startup, growth and turnaround experience. Kevin began his career as an associate with a leading chartered accounting and management consulting firm.
Kevin sits on the boards of Brickstream, Lumeta and Igloo. He also served on the boards of Thor Technologies (acquired by Oracle), iPhrase Technologies (acquired by IBM), Inea Corp./ Cartesis (acquired by Business Objects), Tacit Software, Inc. (acquired by Oracle), Infobright Inc. Tricipher Inc., and CashEdge (acquired by SIG). Kevin also holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at the Schulich School of Business (York University) in Toronto. Kevin earned the ICD.D designation and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors' Corporate Governance College (Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto). He obtained his MBA, with distinction, from York University. He also holds a BA degree in Strategic Studies.

Robert Antoniades
Robert is Managing Director, RBC Venture Partners and focuses on a broad range of technology areas ranging from information security to sales and trading applications.

Robert oversees direct investments in a broad range of software and technology companies ranging from information security to sales and trading applications. Robert also uses his over eleven years of expertise in venture capital to assist in the development and commercialization of emerging technologies developed within RBC.
Prior to RBC, Robert was a Vice President at BMO Nesbitt Burns Equity Partners and Executive Director of CIBC Capital Partners’ Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park where he collectively made investments in financial services software, internet service providers, enterprise and internet software, e-healthcare, wireless application development, security products, optical networking and semiconductor companies, among others.
Robert served as a board member or observer for several of his investee companies. Additionally, Robert has a broad base of transaction and industry experience as a capital markets professional. Robert has a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and a Certified Investment Manager.

Alex Baker
Alex invests in payments and financial services opportunities across both funds.

Prior to joining the team in 2008, Alex worked as a management consultant with BearingPoint. He was involved in a wide range of consulting assignments covering business strategy and implementation of retail banking, consumer and commercial credit card and loyalty marketing solutions. Alex has managed large projects for some of the world's most prominent financial institutions. Alex holds a BBA from the Schulich School of Business (York University) and is a candidate in the Kauffman Fellowship program.

Prior to RBC, Jean-David led the North American mid-market M&A advisory group with Natixis where he was involved in numerous international transactions. Prior to that, he spent over a decade in venture capital as a Vice President with VantagePoint Venture Partners and as a Partner with CDP Capital where he made investments in enterprise software, internet infrastructure and communications equipment in the US, Canada and Europe. Jean-David holds an MBA from Concordia University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Prior to joining the team, Matt was a founding member of Tira Wireless, a leading provider of mobile content deployment technology and services. As SVP Sales, Business Development and Corporate Development, Matt grew Tira to become a recognized industry leader, consistently delivering strong year-over-year revenue growth and receiving multiple industry innovation and growth awards.
Matt came to Tira from Brightspark Ventures LP, one of Canada's leading early stage venture capital firms. As Director of New Ventures, he applied his entrepreneurial skills to building financial networks, raising capital, striking alliances and forming partnerships for the Brightspark group of companies.
Prior to Brightspark, Matt practiced law at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, one of Canada's premier law firms specializing in business technology, general corporate, financial services and mergers and acquisitions.
As an expert on mobile content deployment, distribution and business development, Matt is a frequent speaker at business schools and industry events, including CTIA, Games & Mobile Forum, MECCA, Mobile Entertainment Summit and Always On Innovation Summit. Matt is a graduate of the University of Ottawa's LLB/MBA program.

Josh Sookman

Prior to joining RBC, Josh worked at BDC Venture Capital where he performed due diligence on companies and markets in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors. He also worked at GlaxoSmithKline in a consulting capacity; he helped to create a strategic and tactical plan for the International Clinical Operations leadership team and advised them on Enterprise 2.0 strategies. Josh founded and operated an angel-backed Internet-based venture, CampusTutors Corporation, and he has a broad base of knowledge in Web 2.0 applications and services.
Josh has a Master of Biotechnology degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelors of Science (Honors Genetics) degree from the University of Western Ontario, and is currently pursuing his CFA designation. He has also earned the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) designation.

Prior to joining the team in 2000, Jeannette was Secretary-Treasurer of Euro Brokers Canada, Ltd., the Canadian operation of a global inter-dealer broker where she managed Finance and Operations. Jeannette is a director of Primaxis Technology Ventures Inc. and is also active in the community, currently serving as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Heather L. Main Memorial Scholarship for women in the capital markets, and as a Director and Past-Chair of Hospice Toronto. Jeannette is a Certified General Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
