In 1947, RBC Financial Group made its first contribution to help get
the Canadian Team to the Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
This marked the beginning of a relationship that has continued for 58 years.
As the longest-standing corporate supporter of Canada’s Olympic
Team and long-time supporter of amateur sport, RBC is committed to helping
Canadian athletes succeed whether it's at the community level, provincial
or national level, or for the Olympic podium.
We're proud to have been named a Premier National Partner by the Vancouver
Organizing Committee (VANOC) for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic
Winter Games. In addition to helping to fund the staging of
the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in 2010, RBC’s sponsorship
will go towards funding the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic
Teams competing in Torino 2006, Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010
and the London 2012 Games.
RBC is also a national sponsor of Hockey Canada, the Canadian Snowboard
Federation, the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association, Athletics
Canada and the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
The RBC Olympians program hires both Canadian Olympic and Paralympic
athletes as community ambassadors who bring Olympic messages of excellence
and leadership to Canadian communities.
Athletes are provided with the opportunity to gain valuable skills that
will help them prepare for life after sport, while also receiving much
needed funding to help them realize their Olympic and Paralympic dreams.
RBC continues to support amateur sport in our communities with grassroots
programs such as the RBC Local Hockey Leaders program, the RBC Jumps and
Bumps program for freestyle skiers, and the Canadian Olympic School program.
