Exceptional exposure for emerging talent

With the Canadian Art Foundation’s support, this year we will continue to raise awareness of the wealth of emerging talent across the country, as well as elevate the level of prestige for short-listed visual artists and the national winner. The winner’s and both honourable mentions’ paintings will become part of RBC’s art collection and gain exceptional exposure to the national arts community.

The remaining 12 finalists’ work will be donated to the Canadiana Fund's Crown Collection and may be displayed at one of Canada’s seven official residences.

The prizes

To encourage up-and-coming artists and help build their careers, $145,000 will be awarded as follows:

First prize, national winner: $25,000; second and third prizes, honourable mentions: $15,000 each; 12 finalists: $7,500 each.
