Lisa's Bio

Lisa Ross competed at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games in the Yngling event and at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in the Laser radial event. She started racing at the age of 15 and has since won the Canadian title in her event six times. Lisa aims to win an Olympic Games medal for Canada in 2012.

Athletic Goals

I would like to win a medal for Canada and I would like to stay involved with the sport of sailing my whole life.

Favourite Olympic/Sporting Moment

Before entering the stadium this year in Beijing, while in the tunnel, someone started singing O’Canada and the whole team joined in. It was an amazing moment to be singing the National Anthem with the entire Olympic Team. I think the Canadians were the most energized and pumped team entering the stadium because of that moment.

Best Advice You've Ever Received

Make sure that the journey is the reward; otherwise you will probably never reach your goal.

Being an RBC Athlete means...

I am looking forward to the opportunity to get connected with the community and share my experiences and lessons learned over the past 8 years. I really hope that I might be able to inspire a few Atlantic Canadians, especially younger ones, to be active, healthy and not to give up on their dreams.
