Fatih's Bio

Fatih Stanley is an up-and-coming Canadian track and field star, specializing in the 100 m and 200 m sprint events. In 2006 he won both the 100 m and 200 m at the Ivy League Championships. He hopes to represent Canada at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Athletic Goals

• To be a Canadian Champion in the 100m
• To make the Canadian Olympic Team, the Commonwealth Team and the World Championship Team
• To make the Top 20 in the world

Favourite Olympic/Sporting Moment

• When Donovan Bailey raced the 100m in 9.84 seconds at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games to become the fastest man on the planet.
• Watching Usain Bolt break the 100m and 200m world records at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
• Watching Michael Jordan make the game winning shot back in 1998 against the Utah Jazz

Best Advice You've Ever Received

I am not sure that I have a specific quote or phrase, but I know that whenever I am at my lowest moments I always remember that I am not alone and no matter what happens everything will be alright.

Being an RBC Olympian gives me the opportunity to share my experiences in sport and beyond with people who may go on to implement my lessons in their own lives. It also provides me with the necessary opportunity to use the skills obtained through sport to help shape my path towards a successful career.
