Career Highlights:

• Gold medallist, Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games (World record 4x100m medley relay)
• Silver medallist, 2004 Athens Paralympic Games (4x100m medley relay)
• Two time bronze medallist, 2006 IPC World Championships (100m freestyle, 400m freestyle)

Darda's Bio

Darda competed at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Paralympic Games in her sport of swimming. She won the gold medal in Sydney 2000 and was a silver medallist in Athens 2004. She has accomplished most of her goals in her sport and has learned that anything is possible when you maintain a positive attitude.

Athletic Goals

I feel that I have accomplished almost every goal that I have set out for myself in sport.

Favourite Olympic/Sporting Moment

At the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games when, with her relay teammates, she received her gold medal and watched the Canadian flag being raised while listening to the Canadian national anthem.

Best Advice You've Ever Received

• "It is how we overcome obstacles that matters most."
• "Never grow a wishbone where a backbone ought to be."

Being an RBC Athlete means...

Being an RBC Olympian means that I can educate a broader audience about the Paralympics and to hopefully inspire more people to get involved in supporting athletes with a disability in Canada.
