Account Opening

RBC is committed to ensuring the process of opening an account is as straightforward as possible, while still meeting regulatory requirements. Using plain language and available in multiple languages, our documents clearly outline the requirements for opening an account and meeting our verification of funds policy. In 2008, RBC adopted a new workflow system that automates the processing of forms required to open an account. Rather than paper moving via mail, forms and supporting documentation are now scanned at the branch level and forwarded electronically in a more accurate and timely fashion. This has significantly reduced the amount of time it takes to open an account.

In 2008, RBC Bank in the U.S. introduced the One Degree Sales Platform, reducing the time required for opening a new account from 30 minutes to six minutes.
