RBC named to 2008 Dow Jones Sustainability Index

TORONTO, September 6, 2007 — For the eighth consecutive year, RBC has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, an annual review that recognizes the world's financial, social and environmental corporate leaders. RBC was also named to the DJSI North America Index.

These indices list leading companies from around the world that create long-term shareholder value by taking on opportunities and managing risks stemming from economic, environmental and social developments.

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes track the financial performance of leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. The annual review influences the investment decisions of asset managers who use the DJSI family as objective benchmarks for sustainability portfolios.

RBC congratulates the other Canadian companies that are included on the indices.

This honour adds to an impressive suite of recognition garnered by RBC for programs and performance related to sustainability and corporate responsibility, including being named the number one large company in the world at effectively managing environmental risks and opportunities by Newsweek magazine in 2007.

RBC is also listed on the Jantzi Social Index and the FTSE4Good Index, recognizing the world's financial, social and environmental corporate leaders.
