RBC commits $300,000 in Support of Hurricane Matthew Relief Efforts

TORONTO, October 12, 2016 - Today, RBC announced a funding commitment of $300,000 to support organizations providing relief and humanitarian efforts for those affected by the severe damage caused by Hurricane Matthew in the Caribbean and the U.S.

'While relief and recovery efforts are underway, our thoughts remain with those who lost loved ones as a result of this devastating hurricane,” said Valerie Chort, vice president, corporate citizenship, RBC. “Our deepest thanks go to relief workers, first responders and volunteers who continue to plow directly into the damage and destruction to ensure the safety of those affected by the ongoing impact of this storm.”

Today’s announcement includes RBC’s earlier contribution of $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support Hurricane Matthew relief efforts. Customers of RBC can to make donations to the Canadian Red Cross at their local branch.
