TORONTO, May 23, 2014 - The RBC Foundation announced today a $50,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts for those affected by the worst floods to hit the Balkans in living memory. RBC has requested that its donation be directed where it is needed most for emergency relief which can include food, clean water, shelter and medical aid.
“The impact of this disaster is enormous and has been devastating to thousands of people and their communities,” said Gord Nixon, CEO, RBC, “We are committed to helping the people of the Balkans recover and rebuild from these powerful floods. We are proud to partner with the Red Cross in support of their relief efforts in aiding those affected by this devastating event.”
