As Group Head, Personal & Commercial Banking, Jennifer Tory is responsible for RBC's banking businesses in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean, including personal and commercial financial services, credit cards and payments, as well as RBC's sales and branch distribution, operations and advice centres. As a member of Group Executive, she is one of nine executives responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of RBC.
Immediately prior to this position, as Regional President, Greater Toronto Region, Ms. Tory led a team of over 4,000 employees in providing financial advice and services to RBC's personal, small business and commercial clients. Since joining RBC in 1978, Ms. Tory has held a variety of senior leadership and executive sales management roles in personal, business and commercial banking, and operations.
Awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal in 2013, Ms. Tory has a long history of supporting numerous community causes. She sits on Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation Board and serves as chair Sunnybrook Hospital Advancement Committee. Ms. Tory is Vice Chair, Toronto International Film Festival and a fundraiser for several other charitable organizations, including Free the Children.
A recipient of the 2011 Catalyst Canada Honour for championing women in business, and recognized by Women's Executive Network as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 in 2010, Ms. Tory is a graduate of Queen's University and has completed her ICD.D designation through the Institute of Corporate Directors at the Rotman School of Management. She and her two daughters reside in Toronto.
