As Group Head, U.S. & International Banking, Peter Armenio
is responsible for RBCs banking operations outside of
Canada, including RBC Centura, with more than 340 branches
in six U.S. states, and RBCs Caribbean banking operations.
Peter also oversees RBCs 50 per cent ownership in RBC
Dexia. As a member of RBCs Group Executive, he is one
of eight executives responsible for setting the overall strategic
direction of RBC.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Armenio was Group Head, RBC
U.S. and International Personal and Business, with global
responsibility for RBCs personal and business client
segments outside of Canada, which included banking and investments
in the United States, banking in the Caribbean, and global
private banking internationally.
From May 2003 to November 2004, Mr. Armenio was President
of RBC Investments, responsible for RBCs global wealth
management businesses, which included Canadian & International
Brokerage (full service brokerage, self-directed brokerage,
private counselling, trust services and private banking),
Financial Planning, Global Private Banking, Global Asset Management
(including Royal Mutual Funds, and Voyageur Asset Management),
and RBC Dain Rauscher.
Before that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer
of RBC Dain Rauscher. Based in Minneapolis, he had management
responsibility for the retail and fixed income businesses
and related functions (Private Client Services, PCG Equity
Research, RBC Dain Correspondent Services and Voyageur Asset
Management).
Prior to joining RBC Dain Rauscher in 2001, Mr. Armenio spent
18 years at RBC Dominion Securities, RBCs Canadian broker-dealer.
He started as a financial consultant and progressively held
the titles of branch manager, regional manager, divisional
manager, national sales manager and head of the Private Client
Division. Between 1999 and 2001, he was responsible for all
of domestic Canadian private client businesses.
Born in New York, Mr. Armenio is married with three children.
He has a business degree from Concordia University in Montreal
and is a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
