RBC announces $650,000 Gift to Grant Macewan University

Edmonton, AB - March 1, 2011 - RBC today announced a donation of $650,000 to the School of Business at Grant MacEwan University.

The donation will support a Curriculum Enhancement Project that integrates professional skills across all business disciplines within MacEwan's Bachelor of Commerce degree.

"The business world is continually changing so we are proud to be able to partner with the School of Business at Grant MacEwan University to help prepare graduates for the dynamic business environments they will be entering," said Michelle Docking, vice president, Commercial Financial Services, RBC.

The innovative program is designed to match professional skills with theoretical teachings to prepare MacEwan business students for the workforce. Faculty will be enabled to set performance benchmarks, map curriculum, analyze student results and validate and share information through scholarly activity.

"Through the integration of seven key professional skills, the School of Business will continue to build a unique undergraduate degree that offers students a relevant and thought provoking education that encourages students to inquire, communicate, navigate and excel within the context of modern business," said Elsie Elford, Dean, MacEwan School of Business.
