RBC Capital Markets announces senior U.S. fixed income appointments

NEW YORK, 19 septembre 2007 — RBC Capital Markets today announced the appointments of Chuck Powis as head of Institutional Sales for U.S. Financial Products and Fixed Income & Currencies, Mike Quinn as head of U.S. Credit Trading, and Eric Olson as head of Emerging Markets Trading, U.S. All positions are part of RBC's U.S. Fixed Income & Currencies platform and are based in New York.

"These appointments are a reflection of our continuing commitment to building a top-tier global fixed income business, with a significant presence in the U.S. market," said Jonathan Hunter, global co-head of RBC Capital Markets Fixed Income & Currencies business. "Chuck, Mike and Eric are highly respected industry veterans, the type of talent that is central to our highly disciplined and focused approach to client service and product innovation."

Quinn retains his role as RBC Capital Market's co-head of Structured Credit, Financial Products. Powis was formerly RBC Capital Markets' head of U.S. Structured Credit and Rates.

Joining Olson on the firm's Emerging Markets trading platform is Ron Goldshmidt, who joins as a director in the firm's U.S. Emerging Markets trading business as RBC Capital Markets continues to bolster its Emerging Markets business around the globe. Olson was most recently with HSBC, where he was head of Latin American trading. Goldshmidt joins from UBS, where he headed the firm's Local Markets Fixed Income and Derivatives trading operation, specializing in Latin America and Eastern Europe.
