RBC IA Clarington Dividend Growth Plus Deposit Notes Series 1 & 2 available

TORONTO, October 23, 2006 — RBC Financial Group today issued RBC IA Clarington Dividend Growth Plus Deposit Notes Series 1 and 2. These notes are designed for those risk-averse retail investors seeking an alternative to GICs while looking for greater diversity in their portfolio.

The RBC IA Clarington Dividend Growth Plus Deposit Notes Series 1 and 2 are principal protected and linked to a portfolio of Canadian equities, Canadian income trusts, and potentially bonds, in which allocations will be based on a dynamic rebalancing strategy. The equity and income trust portions of the portfolio are managed by Industrial Alliance Asset Management. The equity investments are managed with similar investment objectives to the IA Ecoflex Dividends Fund, a Morningstar Five-Star Fund (as of August 31, 2006).

The RBC IA Clarington Dividend Growth Plus Deposit Notes Series 1 provide monthly coupons equivalent to 100 per cent of the distributions received on the equity and income trust investments. The RBC IA Clarington Dividend Growth Plus Deposit Notes Series 2 (Return of Capital Series) provide monthly partial principal repayments equivalent to 100per cent of the distributions received on the equity and income trust investments. Distributed by IA Clarington to registered dealers across Canada, both notes are available to self-directed investors until December 1, 2006 and have a maturity date of June 9, 2014.
