RBC Capital Markets sponsors Euromoney Gold Investment Summit

TORONTO, September 29, 2004 - RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of RBC Financial Group (RY: TSX and NYSE) today announced its role as lead sponsor of the Euromoney Gold Investment Summit for the second year running. The summit, to be held in London, U.K. on November 4-5, 2004, is established as the UK industry event for all those involved in gold production, mining and investment as well as everyone seeking to expand their role in the market.

Tony Fell, Chairman of RBC Capital Markets, will open the event with members of the recently expanded RBC bullion team, and will be joined by other experts, gold producers and industry leaders from around the world. Speakers - who include Gregory Wilkins, President and CEO of Barrick Gold Corporation and Geoff Handley, Executive Vice President of Placer Dome Inc. - will focus on industry trends, new reserves and investment advice.
