Full Contest Rules and Regulations


The sponsor of the Contest is the Royal Bank of Canada [RBC Visa Infinite Avion] card (the “Bank” or “Sponsor”). Please read these contest rules (“Contest Rules”) in their entirety before entering the Contest. Do not enter the Contest unless you agree to these Contest Rules. Participation in the Contest constitutes unconditional agreement and acceptance of these Contest Rules which are final on all matters relating to the Contest. By entering this Contest you agree to be bound by the decisions of contest judges which are final and binding in all respects.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

1. Contest Period: The RBC Visa Infinite Avion Longest Drive Contest (the “Contest”) starts at 07:00 a.m. EST, July 21, 2008 and closes at 11:59:59 p.m. EST, on July 27, 2008. In the event of a rain delay the contest period will be extended to 11:59:59 p.m. EST, on July 28, 2008 (collectively, the “Contest Period”).

2. Eligibility:
This Contest is open to residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence except employees of the Bank, its affiliates, the prize sponsors of this Contest and each of their respective independent contest agencies and promotional agencies, or anyone domiciled with any of the foregoing employees.

3. How to Enter:

Two Methods of Contest Entry:

a. Onsite at the RBC Canadian Open: Onsite entry will be available during the RBC Canadian Open starting at 7:00 am EST, on July 24, 2008. There will be four (4) Daily Prizes during the Contest Period, one for each day of the RBC Canadian Open. The deadline for entries for each Daily Draw will be the tee-off of the second to last pair. By completing the entry form, you will be entered into the Daily Draw for the day in which you enter the Contest (if entered prior to the Daily Draw deadline) and also into the Grand Prize draw. Onsite entries are limited to one (1) per person per day up to a maximum of four (4) during the Contest Period. All Contestants who correctly identify the golfer who hits the longest drive on the 16th hole on the day of entry, will be eligible to win the prize in the Daily Draw. All Contestants will be entered into the Grand Prize Draw regardless of whether they correctly identified the golfer with the longest drive.

b. Online/ No Purchase Entry: Contestants can enter the online Contest at www.rbc.com/longestdrive. There will be four (4) Secondary Prizes available to be won and one (1) Grand Prize. Contestants who correctly guess the yardage of the longest drive on the 16th hole on the final day of the RBC Canadian Open will be eligible to win one of four Secondary Prizes. The deadline for entering the Secondary Draw is the tee-off of the second to last pair on the final day of the tournament. All Contestants will be entered into the Grand Prize Draw regardless of whether they correctly guessed the yardage of the longest drive on the 16th hole on the final day of the tournament. Online/No Purchase Entries are limited to a maximum of four (4) per person during the Contest Period.

Limit of up to four (4) entries per person throughout the Contest Period (maximum of one (1) entry per day for the Onsite method of entry). If it is discovered that you have entered or attempted to enter or register more than times than is permitted by the Contest Rules, the Sponsor reserves the right to declare all of your entries null and void, and any prize you might have been entitled to will not be awarded. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete or illegible requests.

4. Prizes

a) Grand Prize

There will be one (1) Grand Prize available to be won for all onsite and online entries, consisting of a trip for four (4) people on a dream golf vacation, of your choice, to California, Arizona or Florida. Approximate retail value $25,000.00 CDN.

The trip includes return economy class airfare for four (4) departing from the Canadian International Airport (“Departure Point”) nearest to the winner’s residence to the selected destination, five (5) nights’ accommodations at a three or four star hotel in a standard room (based on two (2) rooms, double occupancy). The winner(s) and his/her travel guests must be available to travel within twelve (12) months of notification of winning. The winner and his/her travel guests must travel on the same itinerary and are solely responsible for all costs incurred to and from the Departure Point as the Grand Prize originates and terminates there. All other expenses not specified herein, including but not limited to: airport taxes, fuel/currency surcharges, ground transportation, meals, beverages, room services, gratuities, merchandise, telephone calls optional tours or travel arrangements, insurance, medical or other travel documents and personal expenses, are the sole responsibility of the winner and his/her travel guests. It is the sole responsibility of the winner and his/her travel guests to obtain all necessary travel documentation, including passports and visas. No changes to the itinerary are permitted once the booking has been confirmed. No frequent flyer mileage or other reward point accumulations will be available for this trip. Approximate retail value is $25,000 CDN.

Each guest will receive four (4) rounds of golf at two (2) separate courses based on a foursome. Carts and greens fees and use of facilities are included.

b) Daily/Secondary Prizes

Eight (8) Secondary Prizes consisting of a TaylorMade® Driver will be available to be won. Each with an approximate retail value of $500.00 CDN

c) For All Trip Prizes:

All trip prizes must be booked a minimum of thirty (30) days in advance and are subject to availability at the time of reservation. The winner and his/her travel guests must each have proof of valid travel documents (including any necessary Visas) prior to ticketing. The winner and his/her travel guests must be Canadian residents to qualify for a travel prize. In the event that the prize description includes a car rental either the winner or a travel guest must be 25 years or older and have a valid Canadian driver’s licence. Actual retail value of all trip prizes will vary based on departure point (being the Canadian International Airport closest to winner’s residence), fluctuations in airfare and other costs and dates of travel. Trip prizes are subject to availability and other travel restrictions. Trip prizes must be accepted as awarded (with no exceptions or changes), are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. The winner and his/her travel guest(s) must travel at the designated time/dates and on the airline arranged by the Bank, Golf Holidays International Inc. the prize provider or the independent contest organizer or the prize is forfeited. Winner and his/her travel companion(s) are responsible for obtaining any required travel, insurance and health document

5. Draws:

A random draw for the Grand Prize will be conducted by Van-Smith Marketing, the independent contest organization in Toronto on July 31, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. EST, from among all eligible onsite and online entries based on, and as determined solely by, the Bank’s records at the end of the Contest Period, which records will be deemed final and conclusive on all matters, plus any eligible no purchase entries received during the Contest Period.

6. Odds of Winning/Skill-Testing Question/Declaration:

The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries. Before being declared a winner, each selected eligible entrant will be contacted by telephone as set out in the entry form. Potential winners must correctly answer unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question to be posed by telephone at a mutually convenient time. If a selected entrant incorrectly answers the skill-testing question or cannot be contacted within Three (3) business days of July 31, 2008; the entry will be disqualified and another eligible entry will be randomly selected until all prizes have been awarded.

Winners will be notified by Van-Smith Marketing to make arrangements for the awarding of their respective prizes. Each Winner and their travel guest (s) (or a parent/legal guardian in the case of a minor travel companion) will be required to sign a standard Declaration of Compliance with Rules, Publicity and Liability Release form and consent in the form and manner provided, consenting to the use of their name, city or province/territory and/or photograph, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the Bank and/or its affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies relating to this contest, including posting to a website and releasing the Bank, the contest organizer and independent contest organization, its promotional agencies and each of the other prize sponsors and their respective, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents, from any liability relating to this contest or any prizes. If a potential winner fails to sign and return the required documents within 72 hours of receiving it by fax or email and/or within 10 days if by mail, the Bank reserves the right to void that entry and select another eligible entrant. Prizes must be accepted by the winners as awarded, are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. If not accepted as awarded, prize will be forfeited. Any substitution will be at the sole discretion of the Bank. Any taxes, fees or incidental charges applicable to any prize(s) shall be the sole responsibility of the winners of that prize.

7. Substitution of Prize(s):

The Bank and each prize sponsor reserve the right, in the event that a prize or any component of a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason, to substitute a similar prize or component of a prize of equal or greater value without liability.

8. Decisions Final/Property of the Bank:

By entering, each entrant agrees to abide by these contest rules and regulations and the decisions of the Bank and the independent contest organization, which are final. All entries become the property of the Bank and none will be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants.

9. Lost/Stolen Entries/Canceling Contest:

The Bank, and each of its affiliates, is not responsible for entries that may be lost, damaged, illegible, irregular, misdirected, delayed or not received. The Bank, and each of its affiliates, will not be responsible for telephone, technical, operational, network, on-line, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind, misdirected, stolen, incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail, computer or telephone transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials relating to this Contest. If, for any reason, any portion of this Contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including without limitation by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its control, the Bank reserves the right, to cancel, terminate, modify (including extending the Contest Period) or suspend the Contest without individual notice. Any such notice will be posted on the Bank’s web site located at www.rbc.com/longestdrive.

10. Laws/Currency:

This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations in Canada. This Contest is void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. All currency indicated in these Contest rules is in Canadian dollars.

11. Privacy: By entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the Bank, each of its prize Sponsors, its promotional agencies and independent contest organizers, storing and using the personal information submitted with each entry only for the purpose of administering this contest and prizes.
