Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay Footprint

RBC is proud to be a Presenting Partner of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay (OTR). The OTR represents the very highest of human values and physical endeavour and we are looking forward to bringing the Olympic Flame to more than 1000 communities across Canada beginning in October 2009.

Balancing our business, community and environmental responsibilities is something we take very seriously at RBC. As a result, we are taking a number of important steps to reduce and offset our carbon footprint created during the OTR, including: using the most fuel efficient vehicles as is practical; limiting the number of RBC staff accompanying the OTR; integrating all of our operations with our partners the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and Coca-Cola; and working closely with local communities to ensure that the OTR celebrations are as green as possible. In addition, we will purchase the necessary carbon offsets, of the highest quality, to ensure that our carbon footprint related to the OTR is completely offset.
