The Environment

eStatements

One of the easiest ways to make a difference to the environment is to reduce the amount of paper you use and receive. When it comes to banking, you can switch from paper to electronic statements. By viewing your statements online and by using Online and Telephone Banking more frequently to view your accounts, pay bills and make other transactions, you'll be saving not only trees, water, and energy, but also reducing emissions.

And as a further benefit to the environment, we will donate $5 to the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) each time an account is switched from paper to electronic statements. Join us in reaching our goal of a $1 million donation to NCC. If you have a Royal Credit Line, RBC Homeline Plan®, Visa* or Personal Deposit Account we invite you to turn off your paper statement today.

NCC is Canada's leading not-for-profit land conservation organization, dedicated to the preservation of Canada's diverse and endangered landscapes and the species-at-risk that live there. Since 1962 NCC has focused its efforts on highly threatened landscapes and to date has protected nearly two million acres across the country. Over the next five years, NCC plans to conserve another 700 important forest, grassland, and wetland properties across Canada -- an additional 500,000 acres of critical natural habitat.

Working right across Canada, on many different types of landscapes, and with many different communities, NCC is ensuring a stronger, longer-lasting, positive impact. Forests, grasslands, and wetlands all provide a direct benefit to our communities and our country by supplying natural habitat for plants and animals, maintaining biodiversity, and cleansing the water we drink and the air we breathe. Healthy ecosystems play an important role in defending our world against climate change.

The money we raise together will go towards supporting NCC's direct action of protecting great natural places across the country. The funds raised will also help NCC ensure that nature's places will be there, in a healthy and productive state for future generations, by allowing NCC to expand its land stewardship program of engaging local communities across the country in the care of the land.
