What surprised me most and it was a great surprise was how open and diverse the people here are.
One thing the career launch program did for me was to enlighten me on how people grow in life, not just in their careers but personally.
It's not the case that everyone is coming from a business background, a science background and I think that that's a preconception that really needs to be addressed.
There's a lot of different opportunities that are within career launch.
Just to start off, once you start the program you already have 100 different peers.
RBC has been an amazing platform just to network, to reach out to people.
Everyone's very open, very welcoming to you.
It's also about actually feeling like what I say or what my colleagues say is considered.
They want to engage with you, they want to teach you what they're doing and a lot of people love what they do.
You have different rotations, you work with different teams, you work at a branch, you work at a non-profit, you work at the head office as well so from that you also learn to work with different managers in different team settings.
That's something that career launch really fosters is this always learning mindset, never getting comfortable.
When I started the career launch program I had no experience at all and I think that was the greatest opportunity ever, is that they gave me that experience even though I had no experience.
