Great Names in Canadian Cricket

Cricket has its stars just like any other sport.
You may already be familiar with some of these names:

John Davison scored the fastest-ever world cup "century" (100 runs in one innings) against the West Indies in 2003.

Ashif Mulla scored an excellent 58 against New Zealand in the 2007 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup.

Trevin Bastiampillai, a rising star in Canadian cricket, scored 71 in Canada's victory over UAE in Toronto.

Ashish Bagai was short-listed for the ICC Associate Player of the Year.

Past stars include:

John M. (Jack) Laing appeared on a total of 13 occasions for Canada against the United States, Ireland, Australia and England. He was considered a world-class bowler, and captured 77 international wickets.

L. C. "Clarke" Bell distinguished himself against the touring Australian side in 1932 by scoring 109 "not out" in one match. He went on to become one of the finest batsmen in Canadian cricket history.

W.R.G. "Reg" Wenman, a right-hander from British Columbia, was probably the most prolific run-getter in Canadian cricket. During a career that spanned some 40 years, he scored an amazing 37 centuries.
