Increasingly, companies are being asked
to report on their environmental, social and ethical performance,
sometimes called "sustainability" reporting; yet
a wide range of stakeholders have strikingly divergent opinions
on what companies should disclose and how they should disclose
it. Currently, sustainability reporting is still an emerging
discipline with no commonly accepted standards.
RBC Financial Group has adopted a multi-pronged approach to
sustainability reporting, and we publish information about
our social, environmental and ethical performance in a number
of places for various stakeholder groups. We rely on external
sources, investor and stakeholder groups and global best practices
in determining the relevant issues for inclusion, and strive
to provide an appropriate level of detail for each group.
We support the work of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Here is the suite of publications that comprise RBC's sustainability
reporting: |
- Our GRI/Sustainability
Report and Index (pdf, 64 pages, 665 KB, available
in English only) is geared to investors, analysts, researchers
and NGOs. This report provides the most detailed reporting
on RBC's sustainability performance, including links to
information that exists elsewhere, so as not to duplicate
information. Its content is based on frequently asked questions
from investment groups and non-governmental agencies.
- Our annual Corporate
Responsibility Report is geared to consumers and employees,
and gives a high-level overview of RBC's approach to business
integrity, economic prosperity, environmental sustainability
and community engagement;
- Our annual
report and proxy circulars are published for investors,
and provide information on a regular basis about our financial
performance, as well as details related to corporate governance
and risk management.
- Our public websites contain information about our support
for the wide range of activities that comprise corporate
responsibility.
