RBC Foundation endows new professorship at SFU School of BusinessVANCOUVER,
BC, October 21, 2004 - A new professorship endowment from the RBC Foundation
will strengthen SFU Business' leadership in the field of innovation and technology. The
$600,000 endowment for the RBC Professorship in Technology and Innovation will
support specialized research and educational initiatives at the new Segal Graduate
School of Business. Dean Ernie Love will be the first holder of the professorship.
An engineer by training, Love is an internationally recognized scholar in management
science and operations research. He also actively supports B.C.'s technology sector.
Love will work with the new research centres at the Segal Graduate School
of Business and with the Management of Technology MBA program, focusing on best
practices for deploying and managing innovation in emerging technologies. "Our
partnership is about more than financial support", says Graham MacLachlan,
RBC Royal Bank. "As a long-standing partner with SFU, we've provided graduate
students with hands-on work experience and mentorship from seasoned managers.
We're excited to be furthering our partnership through today's announcement of
