In order to maximize the societal impact of our donations,
RBC focuses its support on a select group of priority projects.
RBC Blue Water Project
Lack of access to clean fresh water is considered to be one of the major threats to human health and economic development around the world. The RBC Blue Water Project is a wide-ranging, multi-year program to help foster a culture of water stewardship in Canada and abroad, so that people have clean fresh water today and tomorrow. Our goal is to contribute to a future of sustainable water resources worldwide.
The project includes a grant program of $50 million over ten years to support charitable initiatives that foster a culture of water stewardship. The grants program has two focus areas: watershed protection and access to safe drinking water.

RBC After School Grants Program
Helping children learn is one of the best investments a company can make. We believe by continuing our support of education not only helps children, but also strengthens our families, enriches our communities and builds the intellectual capital we need to ensure the future health and prosperity of our country.
After-school programs give a real boost to the skills and knowledge children gain in a formal classroom. RBC After-School Grant recipients are community-based charities that provide activities such as computer instruction, sports, literacy, tutoring, music and homework-help to children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18. Our goal is to assist these programs expand their resources and increase their sustainability.
RBC is investing over $2 million a year in After School programs across Canada. Since 1999 RBC has donated over $14 million to 157 organizations.

RBC Children’s Mental Health Project
One out of every five North American children suffers from a mental health problem. We believe we can make a meaningful social impact in this area, by funding children’s mental health programs related to early intervention, prevention, and education for parents and professionals. Over the next several years, RBC will donate a significant portion of its healthcare funding to provide grants to organizations that deliver children’s mental health programs.
Over the next year RBC will commit funding to evidence based children’s mental health programs that provide regional support and services to communities across Canada.
RBC Employee Care Project
By volunteering time and expertise, RBC employees and retirees play a vital role in helping build the prosperity and quality of life of their communities. Whether they sit on boards or are a leader of their local Girl Guide troop, RBC salutes them for their efforts to make their neighbourhoods a better place to live.
At RBC, it pays to volunteer. In fact it pays $500 every year! RBC employees and retirees who volunteer 40 hours or more can be recognized with a $500 grant to the charity they give their valuable time to.
We recognize that our personal time is valuable and limited so in 2007 RBC launched a program to support employee teams of 10 or more that participate in walks, runs and bike rides that raise much needed funds to charitable organizations within Canada.
