A group of more than a dozen RBC employees rolled up their
sleeves to help six Barrie, Ontario families’ dreams
of home ownership become a reality. RBC has been partnering
with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that
aims to provide affordable housing for those in need, since
1998.
Habitat for Humanity Huronia Executive Director Mandy Hillyard
says Habitat for Humanity welcomes volunteers who would like
to help build homes in partnership with low-income families. “We
are always happy to partner with businesses such as RBC” Ms.
Hillyard said. “The volunteer day on the build site
for a group such as RBC creates not only obvious corporate
support, but also an energy and excitement around building
affordable homes for our low income neighbours.”
In 2005 RBC provided $100,000 to assist at 5 build sites
across Canada. Last year alone RBC employee volunteers assisted
in building 23 homes in Canada.
