RBC Centura leaders attend Georgia trade mission to Canada

Rocky Mount, N.C., July, 2005 — RBC Centura Bank's Georgia Regional President Drew Putt and General Counsel Betsy Edelman represented the bank and the state during Georgia's trade mission to Canada, July 26-28, 2005. Canada and Georgia are active trading partners, and RBC Centura was the exclusive bank participating in the delegation.

"RBC Centura believes economic development is essential to the economy of our region and the United States. And we know that success in business, whether it's across town or across the border, starts with relationships. So, we were pleased to send two of our best leaders on this important trade mission for the state of Georgia," said RBC Centura CEO Scott Custer.

The trade mission provided the opportunity for Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, state government officials and Georgia business leaders to learn about important Canadian economic development issues and to deepen existing relationships with Canadian business and industry leaders.

It also gave RBC Centura a chance to introduce fellow members of the Georgia delegation to colleagues at the parent company's Toronto headquarters. RBC Centura is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada, Canada's largest bank as measured by market capitalization and assets.

RBC was one of the key stops for the Georgia delegation. The financial services company hosted the state delegation, RBC executives and customers, and business and community leaders at the company's Tornoto headquarters for a luncheon meeting featuring Governor Perdue and the Mayor of Toronto, David Miller.
