A family's gift to the community

Blair Carter and his wife Rosemary are passionate believers in giving back to their community.

Blair, a financial planner with RBC, in Truro, Nova Scotia, sits on the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation Board, is chair of the Planned-Giving committee, and is a member of two other committees at the hospital. Blair believes that donating both time and money to the hospital is the best way to give back to community.

"Many charities focus on one specific cause. But by supporting the Colchester Regional Hospital, I am helping the hospital help the entire community," says Blair. "All three of my daughters were born there —and you can never underestimate how important a hospital is to the community, no matter which stage of life you are at."

Being a financial planner, Blair also knows the value of providing for the long-term, and has made sure the hospital is part of his own estate planning, by ensuring that the Hospital Foundation will receive a planned gift.
