RBC donates $50,000 to Manitoba Children's Museum

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, April 11, 2005 — RBC Financial Group (RBC), through RBC Foundation, today announced a $50,000 donation to the Manitoba Children's Museum to support innovative new programming. The Manitoba Children's Museum (MCM) plans to update its school programs to coincide with the construction of its new galleries.

Currently, the Manitoba Children's Museum offers various programs for grades one through six, as well as opportunities for both preschool and kindergarten classes. Programs are offered in English, French and French Immersion.

"The Manitoba Children's Museum is thrilled to receive the support of RBC Financial Group," says Diane Doth, MCM Executive Director. "Their generous contribution allows the museum to continue delivering quality programs, which enrich children's lives in our community."

This partnership between RBC and the Manitoba Children's Museum highlights how business and community groups are working together to nurture our children.

"We believe that helping young people learn and reach their potential is one of the best investments our company can make," said Mark Odegard, Regional Vice President, Manitoba and NW Ontario.

"At RBC, we share the Museum's passion for learning. And we applaud the museum for helping thousands of students each year learn through discovery, creativity and fun. So when we heard about the opportunity to support the Museum in redeveloping its well-respected school programs, we were honoured to be included. For some kids, being able to shine outside the formal classroom can be a real boost that keeps them motivated and inspired," he added.
