RBC Blue Water Project recognized with a Central Lake Ontario Conservation Watershed Award

November 19, 2013 - The RBC Blue Water Project has been recognized by the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) with a Special Recognition Watershed Award.

The CLOCA Watershed Awards recognize stewardship and enhancement efforts to improve the watersheds within the Authority's jurisdiction. The Special Recognition Award recognizes continued leadership and contribution to the health of the CLOCA’s watersheds.

The RBC Blue Water Project was recognized for its many environmental initiatives over the past two years, including support of the Durham Children’s Groundwater Festival, RBC staff volunteer work in the conservation areas and RBC’s support of the 2012/13 CLOCA Earth Day events.

The RBC Blue Water Project is an historic, wide-ranging, 10-year global commitment to help protect the world’s most precious natural resource: fresh water. Since 2007, RBC has pledged over $38 million to more than 650 charitable organizations worldwide that protect watersheds and promote access to clean drinking water, with an additional $7.8 million pledged to universities for water programs.
